From the roaring Iguazú Falls over the rhythm of Rio to the Amazon jungle… one curious paw at a time! 🐾🎈
Hello again, my wonderful friends! 😸
Can you believe it? Just yesterday I was saying goodbye to my amazing adventures in Argentina. I made penguin friends, watched gauchos gallop across endless plains, discovered sparkling glaciers, and even survived the temptation of stealing a suspiciously delicious empanada. (I still maintain it smelled like it wanted to be stolen.)
Now the wind has carried my little hot air balloon a little farther north, and suddenly the landscape changes once again.
The mountains grow greener.
The waterfalls become louder.
Music seems to float through the air before I even see the people making it.
And somehow… everything feels as if it’s dancing.
Welcome to Brazil! 🇧🇷
I don’t really have a plan. Cats rarely do. We mostly follow interesting smells, mysterious noises, fluttering butterflies, and occasionally our stomachs.
So naturally… Brazil seems absolutely perfect.
🌊 Floating Above Two Countries at Once
The first thing I see after crossing the border is something so enormous that I almost forget to flap my ears in surprise.
Iguazú Falls!
Thousands upon thousands of waterfalls tumble into the jungle below while my balloon gently drifts overhead.
“Wait…” I mumble.
“So Argentina wasn’t finished showing off?”
The waterfalls don’t answer. They simply keep roaring.
The mist tickles my whiskers, tiny rainbows appear everywhere, and I suddenly realize this is one of those magical places that belongs to both Argentina and Brazil.

How wonderfully polite of them to share.
I wave goodbye to Argentina with one paw and say hello to Brazil with the other.
For a brief moment…
I’m travelling between two countries at once.
Not bad for one very small cat.
🌉 A Bridge Bigger Than My Confidence
My balloon eventually carries me toward São Paulo, where I spot an enormous bridge stretching across the skyline.
It looks magnificent.
It also looks extremely high.
I briefly consider climbing it.
Then I remember that I am, in fact, a cat with perfectly functioning instincts.
Those instincts whisper,
“Admire from a safe distance.”
Excellent advice.

Instead, I float peacefully above it while pretending I was never considering such nonsense in the first place.
The bridge seems very proud of itself.
Honestly…
It deserves to be.
🌸 A Garden Full of Sniffable Flowers
Soon I discover a charming little half-timbered house in Campos do Jordão, surrounded by flowers that seem determined to outshine one another.
Cats appreciate priorities.
Some people photograph flowers.
I sniff every single one.
Very carefully.
Very professionally.
Some smell sweet.
Some smell spicy.
One smells suspiciously like a bee has claimed ownership.
I politely leave that one alone.

The whole village feels like a fairy tale where everyone remembered to water the gardens.
I could probably stay here for weeks.
Or at least until someone notices the tiny paw prints I’ve accidentally left in every flower bed.
🌅 Rio from the Sky
As evening arrives, my balloon carries me above one of the most famous cities in the world.
Below me…
Rio de Janeiro glows in golden light.
Mountains rise from the sea.
Tiny boats sparkle on the water.
The beaches stretch endlessly into the distance.
Even from high above, I can almost hear laughter drifting upward.

For once…
I don’t chase anything.
I simply sit quietly in my basket.
Sometimes adventure means running toward the next surprise.
Sometimes…
it’s just remembering to stop and admire the view.
🗿 Meeting a Very Famous Gentleman
Eventually I arrive beside the enormous Christ the Redeemer statue.
I sit on one of those giant stone arms, trying very hard not to look impressed.
It doesn’t work.
He’s much taller than I imagined.
His arms stretch wide as if welcoming everyone who visits.
I try copying the pose.
Unfortunately…
my balance isn’t quite as majestic.
A small wobble later, I decide perhaps four paws on solid stone is the wiser choice.
Still…

it’s nice meeting someone who also enjoys looking after the whole city.
💃 I Accidentally Join Carnival
Down in Rio’s streets, something colorful catches my eye.
Music!
Drums!
Dancing!
Feathers!
More feathers!
Possibly enough feathers to build an entire flock of birds.
Everyone is smiling.
Everyone is dancing.
Even my tail begins keeping the rhythm before I notice.
Someone twirls past.

I instinctively leap after a fluttering ribbon.
The crowd cheers.
Wait…
Were they cheering for me?
Well…
If they insist.
I perform three completely unplanned sideways hops, a tiny spin, and what I would later describe as an “advanced professional tail wiggle.”
The audience applauds.
To this day…
I have absolutely no idea what I did.
🎶 A Glass of Milk and a Front-Row Concert
After all that dancing, I wander into a cozy little jazz bar.
The lights are warm.
The musicians smile as they play soft Bossa Nova melodies.
Someone kindly places a little glass of milk beside me.
Now this…
This is luxury.

I close my eyes and let the music drift around my ears.
Cats are famous for naps.
Humans underestimate our listening skills.
Every note feels like another gentle pawprint across the evening.
I don’t understand Portuguese.
But beautiful music speaks fluent cat.
⛪ Sunset in Ouro Preto
The next morning brings me to the historic streets of Ouro Preto.
An old church glows beneath the evening sun while the mountains quietly watch from beyond.
A woman sits nearby enjoying the peaceful view.
So I quietly join her.
Neither of us says anything.
Sometimes silence isn’t empty.
Sometimes it’s wonderfully full.
Birds sing.
The breeze carries the scent of old stone and flowering trees.

I think adventures become even more special when they’re shared…
even with complete strangers.
🎨 The Walls That Forgot to Be Boring
Not every adventure involves mountains or waterfalls.
Sometimes…
it’s a wall.
At the Inhotim Institute, giant blocks of bright yellow, pink, white and orange stand proudly beneath the blue Brazilian sky.
I stare at them for quite some time.
Were they painted?
Built?
Stacked by extremely artistic kittens?
Nobody tells me.
Which is perfect.
Cats enjoy mysteries.

I carefully sit in front of the artwork pretending I’m part of the exhibition.
Visitors walk past.
Some point.
Some smile.
One little child waves at me.
I wave back.
Art should always make people smile.
Mission accomplished.
⛪ A String More Interesting Than Gold
My next stop is the beautiful São Francisco Church in Salvador.
Humans seem very impressed by the gold-covered altar. There are carvings, statues, sparkling decorations and enough shiny things to make a magpie faint.
Me?
I discover something even more fascinating.
A little string hanging from a nearby decoration.
Now before you judge me… have you seen how mysterious strings are?

I reach one paw toward it.
It wiggles.
I freeze.
It wiggles again.
I gently tap it.
Victory!
The entire church may be filled with priceless treasures, but in that particular moment, the greatest mystery in Brazil is successfully making a tiny string bounce.
Cats have wonderfully efficient priorities.
👧 New Friends Speak the Universal Language
Outside the church, I suddenly find myself surrounded by a cheerful group of children.
They don’t seem worried that I’ve arrived in a hot air balloon.
They don’t ask for my passport.
Instead…
they simply smile.
One little girl carefully scratches behind my ears.
Another offers me a tiny flower.
Soon we’re inventing games that require no words at all.
A rolling bottle cap.
A bouncing leaf.
A game of “Who’s Faster?” (They win.)

I don’t understand every word they say, but kindness never needs translating.
By the time the sun begins to set, we’ve laughed so much that my whiskers hurt.
I think children might secretly be honorary kittens.
🍲 Grandma Knows Exactly What Every Cat Needs
Later that evening I wander into the warmest kitchen I’ve ever visited.
An elderly Brazilian grandmother stands over a bubbling pot while delicious aromas float through the room.
My stomach immediately volunteers me for dinner.
Steam curls into the air like little clouds.

The fire crackles.
The wooden floor creaks.
Everything feels wonderfully alive.
She notices me watching.
Without saying a word, she smiles that magical grandmother smile.
You know the one.
The smile that somehow says,
“You’ve travelled far, little one. Sit down.”
So I climb onto a colorful stool and supervise the cooking with great professional seriousness.
Every few minutes I sniff the air.
Quality control is important.
Especially when fish might be involved.
🎨 Watching Art Come to Life
At a colorful market in Recife, I discover an artist carefully painting beautiful ceramic tiles.
I quietly climb onto a nearby crate and watch.
The brush dances across the tile.
Blue.
Yellow.
Green.
Tiny flowers.
Swirling patterns.
Every movement seems so calm.
Humans paint with brushes.
Cats mostly paint with muddy paws.
Different techniques.
Same artistic spirit.

I briefly consider adding one tiny paw print to improve the masterpiece…
…but decide today’s masterpiece already has enough beauty without my “creative assistance.”
You’re welcome.
🥭 The Great Mango Investigation
Markets are wonderful places.
So many colors.
So many smells.
So many things that probably shouldn’t be chased.
I wander past baskets overflowing with ripe mangoes.
I’ve met a mango before.
They’re very round.
Suspiciously round.
I gently sniff one.

Nothing happens.
I tap it.
Still nothing.
I stare at it for nearly an entire minute.
Surely it’s planning something.
Just as I decide it’s harmless…
one rolls away.
I leap after it.
The market erupts in laughter as one runaway mango becomes two… then three.
I never actually catch any of them.
But I do become temporarily famous as “the little cat chasing fruit.”
Honestly…
I’ve had worse reputations.
🌅 Streets Painted with Sunshine
My balloon carries me onward to João Pessoa, one of Brazil’s oldest cities.
The colorful buildings glow beneath the evening sun.
Every street seems dipped in warm honey-colored light.
I stroll along the cobblestones pretending I know exactly where I’m going.
I don’t.
Cats rarely do.

Sometimes I choose a street because it smells interesting.
Sometimes because a butterfly flies that way.
Sometimes because absolutely nothing happens there—and those are often the loveliest places.
I think adventures aren’t measured by distance.
They’re measured by how many times you stop and smile.
🏖️ Refueling on the Beach
Eventually I arrive at beautiful Pipa Beach.
The sea sparkles in shades of blue I didn’t even know existed.
The waves gently kiss the rocks below.
Everything smells wonderfully salty.
After so much travelling, my tummy reminds me that sightseeing burns an astonishing number of calories.
Especially if you chase mangoes.
I sit on a warm rock, staring hopefully toward a nearby beach café.
My biggest blue eyes activate automatically.

Humans seem remarkably vulnerable to big blue cat eyes.
A few minutes later…
Mission accomplished.
Let’s just say…
I definitely don’t continue my journey on an empty stomach.
🌴 Professional Hammock Tester
After lunch I discover what might be humanity’s greatest invention.
A hammock.
At first I approach cautiously.
It moves.
I move.
It moves again.
Clearly we’re negotiating.
I carefully place one paw inside.

Then another.
Soon I’m gently swinging beneath the shade of a giant tree while warm ocean breezes ruffle my fur.
I have officially become Chief Hammock Inspector for Brazil.
My professional opinion?
Ten out of ten.
Would nap again.
Possibly forever.
🤍 Walking Across the Moon
Just when I think Brazil cannot surprise me anymore…
I arrive at the breathtaking Lençóis Maranhenses.
At first I wonder whether I’ve somehow wandered onto another planet.
Rolling white sand dunes stretch endlessly into the distance.
Crystal-clear lagoons shimmer between them.
The sunset paints everything gold.
I leave tiny paw prints behind me.
The wind quietly erases them.
It’s strangely beautiful.

The desert reminds me that adventures don’t last forever.
But the memories…
Those stay with us.
Even after the footprints disappear.
🌅 Into the Heart of the Amazon
After so many beaches, colorful towns, music, football, and delicious food, my little blue balloon drifts farther north than ever before. The cities slowly disappear beneath fluffy clouds, replaced by an endless sea of emerald green.
I’ve never seen a forest this enormous.

The Amazon stretches farther than my whiskers can imagine.
I think… this is where adventure gets even wilder. 😺🎈
🌴 Flying Above the Endless Green
Looking down from my balloon, the rainforest seems to go on forever. Every direction is filled with towering trees, twisting rivers and countless shades of green.
I try counting all the palm trees.
After reaching six hundred and forty-two…
…I accidentally count my own tail twice.
That probably doesn’t count.

The warm air smells completely different here too—fresh leaves, flowers and rain. I flap my ears dramatically because it makes me feel like a very experienced jungle explorer.
Even though…
I’m mostly just hoping someone down there has tuna.
🐬 A Dolphin That Smiles?!
While floating along one of the winding rivers, I climb into a tiny wooden canoe for a closer look.
Suddenly—
SPLASH!
A bright pink dolphin leaps right beside me!
I nearly jump straight into my own balloon basket.
The cheerful river dolphin circles the boat as if saying hello. I blink once.
Twice.
Three times.
Nope.
It’s still pink.

We spend a while making funny faces at each other. I wiggle my whiskers.
The dolphin splashes.
I think we understand each other perfectly.
Friendship doesn’t always need words.
Sometimes it only needs curiosity…
…and a little splash.
🍃 Helping… Sort Of
A kind lady prepares fresh jungle leaves while humming a happy tune.
I decide she clearly needs assistance.
So I carefully inspect every single leaf.
One sniff.
One tiny paw tap.
One dramatic head tilt.
Quality control is important.

Eventually I proudly sit right in the middle of the pile.
The lady giggles.
Apparently sitting on all the ingredients isn’t considered “helping.”
Humans have very unusual workplace rules.
☕ The Great Coffee Bean Incident
I discover a cozy little coffee farm where hundreds of beans are spread across wooden tables to dry.
The farmer leaves for just one minute.
Just.
One.
Minute.
Naturally, I decide this is the perfect opportunity to investigate.
One bean rolls away.
Then another.
Then suddenly I’m chasing them across the entire room like tiny brown mice.
By the time the farmer returns…
I’ve accidentally reorganized the entire coffee harvest.

He laughs.
I pretend I planned it that way all along.
☀️ Sunbeams Are My Favorite Jungle Trail
The deeper I wander into the rainforest, the quieter everything becomes.
Golden rays of sunshine peek through the enormous trees like nature’s own little spotlights.
One warm beam lands directly on me.
Well…
Cats have rules.
If a sunbeam appears…
…you are legally required to sit inside it.

I don’t make the rules.
I simply obey them.
For several glorious minutes I become the happiest little jungle statue Brazil has ever seen.
🦫 Meeting the Forest’s Friendliest Neighbor
Near a peaceful stream I meet the biggest guinea pig I’ve ever seen.
At least…
that’s what I think at first.
“My name’s Capybara,” my new friend seems to say with one very relaxed blink.
We stand quietly together as the water ripples around our paws.
No chasing.
No hurrying.
Just enjoying the peaceful moment.

I completely understand why everyone says capybaras are so calm.
After five minutes beside one…
…I almost forget to look for snacks.
Almost.
🐆 Walking Beside a Jungle Legend
As evening falls, the rainforest changes.
The birds become quieter.
The shadows grow longer.
Then, silently, a magnificent black panther appears between the trees.
For a moment I freeze.
The great cat looks at me.
I look back.
Neither of us says anything.
Then we begin walking together through the jungle, side by side.
I may be tiny.
He may be enormous.
But somehow we both understand what it means to be curious, quiet and respectful of the wild.

For a little while…
I feel like I’ve just met one of my very big cousins.
And honestly…
He’s pretty cool.
🎈 Until the Wind Carries Me Again…
Brazil has surprised me in more ways than I ever expected.
I’ve floated above roaring waterfalls, watched the lights of Rio sparkle beneath my balloon, wandered colourful streets filled with music, learned that football fans are wonderfully enthusiastic, discovered that hammocks might actually be one of humanity’s greatest inventions, and made friends everywhere from tiny villages to the deepest corners of the Amazon rainforest.
I’ve met dolphins that smile, capybaras that teach patience, children who share laughter without needing the same language, and a mysterious jungle cat who reminds me that adventure comes in every size.
My balloon is getting a little lighter now.
The trade winds are beginning to whisper again.
They seem to be tugging gently toward towering mountains hidden beyond the western horizon…
Somewhere high above the clouds…
…I think I can almost see the peaks of Peru.
Maybe there are curious llamas waiting to say hello.
Maybe mysterious ancient stone cities are hiding among the mountains.
Maybe someone there knows where to find the world’s fluffiest alpaca pillow for an afternoon nap.
One thing is certain.
Wherever the wind carries me next…
…I’ll be bringing my curiosity, my little blue balloon, and an empty tummy that’s always ready for the next delicious adventure.
Until then…
Purrs, whiskers and warm hugs from Brazil.
With love,
